Devices used throughout district to provide access

  • Kindergarten has a combination of Chromebooks and iPads to use in their classrooms

  • 1st grade is 1:1 with iPads

  • 2nd-5th grade are 1:1 via a cart model

  • 6th-12th grade students 1:1 with Chromebooks

  • All teachers have Windows laptops and para professionals have a Chromebook PreK-12th

Staff Input

  • 90% of our teachers are comfortable or very comfortable with Chromebooks

  • 92% of our teachers are comfortable with the thought of each student having their own Chromebook each day.

  • 100% of our teachers are willing to learn how to teach in a 1:1 environment to begin with the 2017 school year.

What You Need to Know

  • Insurance policy per device per school enrolled. For students entering 6th grade, it is a one time cost of $60 for grades 6-8 and then a one time cost of $80 for grades 9-12 while entering 9th grade. There will be a cap of $150 per family. This is a similar rate to surrounding districts

  • Insurance is not required, but recommended

  • 6th-12th grade students will bring home devices daily

  • Students get a new device as a 6th grader and 9th grader

  • Used devices will be re-purposed for the Elementary carts and other areas

  • This 1:1 program is designed to give our students greater access to technology and get them career and college ready while hoping they become more engaged in the learning process.
